Meet Jade, a dynamic force in our pathology services, whose passion for helping others has made her an invaluable member of the Bupa family for two decades. With her commitment to excellence and a natural drive to help others, Jade is the heart of our pathology service in our Health Clinics. Outside of work, Jade is an adventurer. She loves the great outdoors, whether running, hiking, mountain biking, or skiing. Recently, she earned her Day Skipper qualification, adding sailing to her list of outdoor pursuits. When she's not on an adventure, Jade loves to bake delicious treats and travel to new destinations, always seeking new experiences and challenges.
Career Pathway
With a degree and master's in Sport and Exercise Science from Sheffield Hallam University, Jade began her career as a Fitness Instructor. She then joined Bupa as a Health Advisor at the Bristol Health Clinic. Jade's dedication and expertise quickly propelled her to the role of Health Advisor Training Facilitator, and later, Health Advisor Team Manager, a position she excelled in for 13 years. Driven by her passion for pathology, Jade proposed and secured a new role within the Senior Health Advisor Team as the Pathology Operational Lead, a position she has successfully held for the past 3.5 years.
Jade's current role as Pathology Operational Lead is dynamic and multifaceted, presenting new opportunities daily. Her responsibilities include:
- Quality Control: Jade oversees quality control processes, swiftly resolves device issues, and ensures clinics maintain the highest standards.
- Blood Test and Pathology Management: She manages blood test and pathology results with precision, guaranteeing accurate and timely outcomes.
- Stock Management: Jade handles stock management, ensuring clinics are always well-supplied with the necessary materials to support patients.
- Collaboration: Jade collaborates closely with our clinic teams and external partners, always looking for ways to enhance our services, and helps us strive towards our ambition of becoming the most customer-centric healthcare company.
Jade's career at Bupa is marked by her commitment to continuous growth and development, consistently embracing training and development programs. From APPI Pilates Matwork training to an internal Excellence in Healthcare Leadership course, Jade has strengthened her leadership skills and confidence, becoming an even more effective and inspiring leader. Her pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there – Jade recently completed the Data Essentials Level 3 qualification, which has been invaluable in her current role, enhancing her ability to manage and analyse data with precision.
Jade's dedication to mentoring is equally impressive. She recently participated in the Career Ready Mentoring Program, where she mentored a college student for a year. The experience was challenging yet rewarding, showcasing Jade's commitment to helping others grow and succeed. Working with Jade means being part of a team led by someone who is always learning, growing, and inspiring others to do the same.
Jade's motivation to come to work every day stems from her innate desire to help people. "It’s generally in my nature to want to help people, which is why I chose to work in healthcare. The knowledge that I have the power to help people in this role, whether a customer or a colleague, is what gives me job satisfaction," she explains.
