National Careers Week is a great time to celebrate the many career opportunities available here at Bupa. In 2024 alone, 6,885 of our people in the UK moved internally which is a great example of the scale of opportunity we provide for our people.

Job Switch in the Executive Leadership Team 

An example of our commitment to internal mobility is the recent role switch between our Chief Sustainability & People Officer for Bupa Global, India & UK (BGIUK) and General Manager of Bupa UK Care Services. 

Tom Webber, previously Chief Sustainability & People Officer for Bupa Global, India & UK (BGIUK), is now General Manager of Bupa UK Care Services. Rebecca Pearson, formerly General Manager for Bupa UK Care Services, has taken over Tom's previous role.

From Talent Acquisition to Sustainability

Jules's career journey at Bupa has been nothing short of inspiring! With 20 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Jules made a bold move to follow her passion for green initiatives and transitioned into the role of Senior Sustainable Healthcare Manager. Her knack for project management and dedication to sustainability is driving Bupa's green efforts to new heights.  

When contemplating this career change, Jules sought advice from senior leaders. Despite initial worries about leaving a familiar field, their encouragement to focus on her passion and acquire new skills proved invaluable and gave her the confidence to make the move. 

Jules's advice to others? Follow your passions, identify the steps to gain the necessary skills and exposure, and go for it! 

 

 

From Health Advisor to Operations Manager

George's career at Bupa has been an incredible adventure! Beginning in a customer-facing clinical role, he quickly uncovered his talent for leadership and operations. Throughout his journey, George has honed his skills in people management, consistently prioritising the customer in all he does. 

George motivates everyone to embrace new opportunities and focus on personal growth. His experiences across various sites have shown him that career progression isn't just about climbing the ladder—sometimes, it's about taking those exciting sideways and diagonal steps too.

From Trainee Dental Nurse to Team Leader

Zoe's career at Bupa Dental Care has been an exciting journey of growth and dynamic roles! Starting as a Trainee Dental Nurse at just 18 years of age, she quickly progressed to Lead Dental Nurse and Practice Coordinator, sharpening her leadership and clinical skills along the way. Her passion for development saw her excel as a Practice Manager and Area Manager, where she managed multiple sites and teams with flair.  

Zoe's curiosity led her into recruitment, where she forged strong relationships and made a significant impact on talent acquisition. As a Regional Lead Nurse, she supported practices across the South, ensuring top-notch care standards. Now, as a Resourcing Team Leader, Zoe continues to thrive, using her extensive experience to support and develop her team.
